Milestones: Internet
- 1992, December
The GLLOW gopher site began as a part of Uwinfo, the University of Waterloo gopher site.
Later this changed into a GLLOW website.
- 1995, February 21 (Tuesday)
The first message was sent on the newly created Rainbow List.
- 1997, January
The Regional Pride Committee (RPC) announced the creation of the Rainbow Community
Centre, a web site which acted as the electronic hub of the RPC and the
queer community in area.
This eventually proved to be too much effort for later Pride Committees to maintain, and it
was abandoned.
Its role was at some later date taken up with some modifications by the
Grand River Rainbow Community Centre.
At some point prior to February 1995, the GLLOW List began as a listserv, based on an unwieldy
list of email addresses used by GLLOW to communicate with its members.
At some point between 2005 and 2009, the Grand River Rainbow Community Centre was
launched.
