1977 * Lesbian Organization of Kitchener (LOOK) Starts
The Lesbian Organization of Kitchener (LOOK) was formed and continued until about 1987.
This group provided a focal point for lesbian feminists in the area for a significant
period of time.

1977 * The Robin's Nest (Cambridge) Opened
The Robin's Nest was started in 1977 as a “Sports and Recreation Club.”
The owners wanted to avoid backlash from the community by not including the term
“gay” in any of its papers.
It ran primarily as a dance club like no other, where disco, country and even polkas were part of
the evening's song list.
The Robin's Nest was started in the old Masonic Temple on Dickson Street in Galt, and later
relocated to a building known as The Baker's Warehouse on Hobson Street, where it was located
for the majority of its existence.
Originally located on the upper level of the building, The Robin's Nest later moved downstairs
where the setup was more suitable and it was wheelchair accessible.
The Robin's Nest moved to its final location on Bishop Street in Cambridge on or about 2005-06.
The Robin's Nest closed its doors for good on December 31, 2010 with a Final Farewell
New Year's Eve Party.
